Welcome to this space dedicated to the memory of our friend, Chris Miller. Chris was a vibrant, unforgettable part of our community, a true friend whose spirit touched everyone he met. Sadly, we lost him to cancer. In the wake of his passing, we sought a way to keep his memory alive—not through somber mourning, but with a vibrant, visible symbol of hope, remembrance, and action. That symbol is wearing red shoes.
What We Do
We make slightly zany fashion choices for cancer awareness and community outreach. We wear red shoes in Chris’s honor. Every pair you see is a quiet tribute, a conversation starter, and a way to signal that Chris is not forgotten. But it’s more than just a memorial; it’s a commitment. When you put on a pair of red shoes, you’re stepping into a larger movement to put cancer awareness center stage and bring the community together. Our goal is simple: to make the fight against cancer something we talk about openly, and something we work together to overcome whether it’s helping those who have been affected or just making a slightly zany fashion decision. Chris’s Story
Family First
Chris was an extraordinary individual with a kind heart, devout faith, and unwavering commitment to his family. Although Chris’ time with his children and wife was cut too short, he made the most of that time. Whether it was watching his sone Nick play hockey, encouraging his daughter Cady to show off her culinary skills or just watching a movie with the family, his pride as a father and husband was evident and undeniable. Chris always put family first.
Chris was dedicated to his career and was highly respected by his colleagues. He will be remembered for his intelligence, quick wit, and dedication to supporting and mentoring his teammates.
Chris had a genuine love of life. He was an avid musician and guitar player and loved to share his love of music with friends and family. He had innate curiosity and constantly “tinkered” with the world around him. Chris lit up the room with his charisma and cheerful outlook wherever he went and traveled. He was a friend to all who naturally and genuinely related to everyone around him. He made the lives of everyone he touched more complete. Let’s honor Chris with the small symbolism of wearing the red shoes.
